About the survey:Expedia, one of the world’s largest online travel agency, today released the Summer Trend Report 2015, an analysis of vacation destinations and travel preferences across multiple cities in India. The survey was conducted with 520 across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. The survey highlights that Indian travellers are taking fancy towards more unexplored destinations like Finland, Norway, Cyprus, Latvia, Romania and Argentina.

Over the last 12 months, 51% of flights Indians took were on LCCs when flying within Asia

When flying outside Asia, LCCs accounted for 33% of the flights taken by Indian travelers 

New Delhi, India– March 11, 2015: Today the Expedia group’s Global Tour & Transport team released the latest results of its Low Cost Carrier (LCC) Airline Index, a study conducted by Northstar that examined Asia-Pacific travelers’ attitudes towards LCCs. Spurred by LCC growth, supply in Asia-Pacific is expected to increase by 9.5% year-on-year during March 2015*, great news for the 94% of travelers willing to sacrifice perks to save money, according to the study. New Delhi, India– February 6, 2015:The annual Vacation Deprivation Survey, which acted as the inspiration for the #VacationOnMyMind Twitter Campaign suggested that workaholic Indians are mostly deprived for holidays, placing India as the fourth most vacation deprived nation globally with 67% of Indians saying they feel very or somewhat vacation deprived. The survey also reveals that 64% of Indians who feel vacation deprived say their vacation deprivation stems from not getting enough vacation days, while 36% say their deprivation stems from not taking all of their vacation days. Indians are increasingly choosing to take multiple short vacations, than a longer one and disconnect with work. Read more
