About the survey: Expedia®, world’s largest full service online travel agency, today released the results of the 2017 Vacation Deprivation® study, an annual survey of vacation habits across multiple countries and continents. The survey ranks India as the 5th most vacation deprived country globally, just after South Korea (82%), France (66%), Malaysia (65%), and Hong Kong (64%). Findings that further corroborate this are 55% Indians take fewer days of the vacation days they get and 28% don’t take leaves as work schedule does not allow for vacation or there are not enough staff to cover. India #1 globally to consider condoms to be the most essential item while travelling for leisure

13th Jan 2016, New Delhi: The Egencia/Expedia Mobile Behavior Mobile Index, a global study of mobile-device-related behavior and preferences among travelers conducted across multiple countries and continents was launched today. The survey highlights that India (80%) leads in checking in with work followed by Thailand (74%) and Mexico (65%). 20% Indian spouse or travel partners said that they were most annoyed with partners who check in with work during a vacation. India maintains rank 4th as one of the most Vacation Deprived nation globally

The survey highlights that India is the fourth most vacation deprived nation globally, with 65% of Indians saying they feel very or somewhat vacation deprived, and 20% saying they are very vacation deprived.
